Chinese Customs

Chinese is a large country, she has 13 hundred million population from 56 nations. So people have many many customs. I would like to introduce some of them:
* In Chinese New Year, all married people have to give some money inside a red envelope to single people. It means that everyone has luck.
* During the New Year, people never clean the floors of their houses. This means that don't disturb the Mamon. Because almost everyone thinks that the Mammon will goes to their house with a lot of money.
* On the first day of the New Year, most people like to wear new clothes and new shoes. Children especially have to wear red. This is to signify a new beginning with smiling.
* About 30 years ago, people never celebrated their birthday with birthday cake. They would with make eggs red and hand out to children. They also liked to eat noodles. This signifies that the person should have a long long life (like a noodle).
* Chinese are very patriotic people . When they leave their country, they miss her very much in many ways. Some people would like to bring some clay inside a bottle in their luggage. And me?
I like to give my children Chinese names. My daughter's name is Yingzhong. It means "miss China very much as a vine twist a tree." My son's name is Chengzhong. It means "succeed to superior Chinese quality."
